Sitter Spotlight: Jennifer H.

Posted by

Dog lover and DogVacay host Jennifer H. is no stranger to four-legged friends. Living in a dog-friendly building with plenty of resident dogs for your pup to socialize with, Jennifer’s home is ideal for clients who want their dogs to have a vacay of their own. She knows how to administer injections and pills, and is experienced in caring for older dogs who require special care. Located in Brooklyn, New York, Jennifer looks forward to hosting your dog in the Big Apple!

What services do you provide on DogVacay?

I provide dog sitting and dog walking.

What is your experience caring for dogs?

For the last three years, I have been taking care of dogs (and cats) at no charge because I simply enjoy it. Whether they are high energy, older, small or large, I love them all.  Additionally, I am able to take care of older pets requiring special care. [To book with this sitter, click here]

What made you get involved in home dog boarding?

Home dog boarding is the BEST idea ever!  I can now do what I love and give owners a choice in where they board their pets. I’m a huge dog lover and although I don’t have any of my own, I think it’s great that I still have the opportunity to board them in my home. I always have doggy treats in my apartment because I have furry guests visiting all the time!

What can prospective clients expect after leaving their dog with you?

I work from home so I am able to give the dogs the attention and tender love and care they need all day. In terms of walking and feeding, every dog has their own schedule, so I like to stick to it. [To book with this sitter, click here]

Are you close to any dog parks/trails?

Yes, I live close to Prospect Park, a doggie paradise with wide open spaces for dogs to roam. I would be happy to take the guest dog there!

How many dogs do you take in at a time?

Due to NY-sized apartments, I take in two dogs maximum.  All breeds are welcome!

Will guest dogs be around other dogs?

I live in a dog-friendly building, so your dog will be in a great environment with fellow pooches: Dorothy, Harvey, Rosie, and Jordan. They get along with other dogs fabulously. I really believe in socializing the dogs as much as possible, so instead of having them sit around the house, guest dogs get to have playtime with the other dogs in the building. My floor has a long hallway, and the dogs will literally run back and forth for half an hour and they just have the best time! This is great because not only do they get to spend time with other dogs and play, but they get their exercise in and when they’re done, they’re pooped and ready to relax!

Why do you think home dog boarding is a good option?

There are many! First of all, it’s convenient. Dog owners do not have to drive miles to find a boarding facility; they can simply find a suitable host in their area, which could be as close as 5 minutes away. It’s also economical. Home dog boarding is more cost effective, as clients can find a host who offers a price range that lies within their budget. Most importantly, your dog is not caged during the day, so they can feel at home and get one-on-one attention while you’re away. [To book with this sitter, click here]
