What was the inspiration behind Barklyn Organics?
Barklyn Organics was actually inspired by my dog Baci. I rescued her almost 3 years ago while living in Los Angeles. When I first adopted her she was very frail and suffered from multiple allergies. I started looking more closely at what exactly it was that I had been feeding her. It turned out that most commercial dog foods contain byproducts and most of the byproducts were chicken related. It ranged from intestines, to brain, and other very unfavorable parts that you, yourself would never think of consuming. It was at that point I decided to educate myself about canine nutrition. I read multiple books and did research and found that Baci’s allergies stemmed from chicken. At that point I decided to start making homemade meals for her. I used all organic produce and free-range, hormone-free meat and within days she was a brand new dog. Her energy increased, her skin allergies disappeared, and her digestion greatly improved.
How do clients ensure that they’re getting healthy food for their dog?
Each meal I make is hand tailored to the dog in which it is being cooked for. Humans get energy through consuming carbohydrates whereas dogs main source of energy comes from fat. They do not need the same amount of grains that we do. Each client is given the choice of what protein they would like to choose from (beef, lamb, turkey, or fish) and after a consultation I customize a plan for them.
What sets Barklyn Organics apart from other dog food services?
What sets Barklyn apart are the boosts that we offer. If your dog is older and suffers from joint pain or arthritis then I would suggest adding our Forever Young boost. Each delivery includes our pumpkin apple kibble, a moist blend with your choice of protein, as well as our treat of the week. It arrives bundled and ready to eat.
